Publishing Work Using Imprimata and How This Affects Your Rights

• Imprimata Edition allows composers to retain all the rights to their work and leaves them free to sign further publishing contracts at a later stage. 
• Imprimata will charge a one off set up fee for each work, which includes the cost of cover design, publication and administration. For this fee the composer will receive three copies of their score, with more available to order on a print on demand basis.
• A small commission will be retained on every copy sold based on the unit production cost and published price.  Composers are free to choose what their work should sell for and typical commission taken by Imprimata is less than 20% of published price.
• Each published score is allocated an ISMN and/or an ISBN.

What is an ISMN/ISBN?

• ISMN - An ISMN is a barcode and identification number used for printed music worldwide.  It will automatically list your work as available for any retailer wishing to order copies through existing distribution channels.
• ISBN - An ISBN is more commonly used for text-based books but has the advantage of automatically listing your published work with the major online retailers such as Amazon and Blackwells.

Where Will my Work be Available for Purchase?

• All scores published with Imprimata will be available to order through any existing music or book stores.
• All scores will automatically be included in the ClassicalMusicHomepage.com online store which is due to launch in early 2008. CMH is a major new website encompassing the entire classical music community, offering a wide range of services and products for the professional musician, the aspiring student and the enthusiast.
• Composers are to free to sell their work in person or through a website. We also offer a professional web design service which can include an e-commerce facility if required. Please contact us if this service appeals to you.
